Dream About Rapture Biblical Meaning

You might have seen a dream about the rapture. Maybe you were left behind in the rapture dream. Here is the biblical meaning of dream about rapture.
Recently, I have noticed that there are many people dreaming about rapture. The number tends to be increasing daily. Rapture itself is a Christian term, but even non-Christians these days have been dreaming about rapture.

From the look of things, rapture dreams are very common—both among Christians and non-Christians. You're here reading this article, probably because you saw a dream of rapture and wanted to find out what it means.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left behind, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Firstly, we want to attempt unravelling the reason why rapture dreams are so common these days. Before we venture into the meaning of rapture dreams proper.

Dream About Rapture Biblical Meaning

As a Christian dream interpreter, people message me daily for dream interpretation. Some of the messages always read, "I had a dream about rapture, please what does it mean?"

To quickly answer that, I wouldn't say that a rapture dream is either a good or bad omen. Every rapture dream is either a pleasant or scary dream to see. Also, almost all rapture dreams come as warning dreams from God.

Rapture Dreams Biblical Meaning

The rapture is a belief held by some Christians (especially those from the eschatological circle), concerning an end-time event where all dead Christians will be resurrected and joined with those who are still living, to meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air.

This belief has its roots in first epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians, as seen in the verse below:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left behind, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Some Christians believe in a what they refer to as Pre-tribulation, Mid-tribulation, and Post-tribulation raptures, respectively. But irrespective of whenever rapture is going to take place, we believe it sure will—because it is in the holy Bible. The timeframe that it will happen doesn't really matter.

I believe in a coming rapture, I believe that the dead Christians will rise again. I believe because it is found in the Word of God, and the Word of God is truth.

There are also many other Christians out there with the same stance as mine. It would be easy for anyone to claim that it is because people believe in a rapture, that is why they are seeing dreams about rapture. But what about those people who are not even Christians, yet they are also dreaming of rapture?

The major reason why dreams of rapture are very common these days is because we are living in the end-times. Time is short, and God has to send out warnings, just as He promised in the holy Bible.

Acts 2:19
I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

God said that He will show wonders in Heaven and on earth, just to alert the inhabitants of this world concerning the end of the world, so that they will be prepared and ready.

So it doesn't matter whether you are a Christian or non-Christian. The warning goes out to everyone. That is why even non-Christians are seeing dreams of rapture.

What Does It Mean To Dream About Rapture

That said, God doesn't show anyone a dream of rapture for no reason. Whenever you happen to see a dream of rapture, pay attention because there is something very serious God is trying to communicate to you about your eternal fate. I believe that doesn't sound like something to joke with.

To be more precise, here is what it means to dream about rapture:

1. God Wants You To Get Saved

If a non-Christian sees a rapture dream, God is making just another attempt to call them to repentance, so that they might get saved.

2 Peter 3:9 NLT
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

There is life after death, and everyone will either spend eternity in bliss or in torture. Everyone is sure living forever, so life doesn't all end at dying here in this present world.

A rapture dream given to a non-Christian is the Lord extending His hand of mercy and reaching out to them once again, asking them to reconsider where they will spend eternity.

If you are not a Christian, yet you keep seeing a dream of rapture time and again, do not take it for granted. It would be wise you seize that opportunity to get saved.

2. God Wants You To Consecrate Yourself

As a Christian, if you are seeing a dream about rapture, God is telling you to consecrate yourself and make yourself ready, so that you would not be left behind.

What would profit a Christian if they spent their entire lifetime on earth claiming to be a Christian, only to end up in the same place with sinners and those who never knew God? Remember, Jesus is coming for a church without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:26-27).

3. God Is Warning You On The Danger Of Being Unprepared

The danger of being unprepared is being left behind. Anyone at all can be left behind when rapture happens, if they refused to prioritise salvation and their relationship with God.

If you saw a dream of rapture, it could be that God is not impressed with the current state of your spiritual life. He is warning you to sit up and do the right thing, so that you don't get caught unawares by the rapture.

4. God Is Showing You Whether Or Not You're Qualified

If you saw a dream about the rapture, another possibility is that God is simply showing you whether or not you are qualified to spend eternity with Him.

There are Christians who are living wholly to please God. In return, God is pleased with them and would like to show them that they are qualified for Heaven. This could come as a dream of rapture.

This is often the case if you saw a dream of rapture where you actually got raptured. You should rejoice and thank God for His grace and mercy upon your life. Thank Him for enabling you live a life that is pleasing unto Him. At the same time, you should keep working and improving your relationship with God.

Biblical Meaning Of Being Left Behind In A Dream

If you saw yourself being left behind in a dream when a rapture happened, such dreams often come with the fear that a rapture has already happened. Only for the dreamer to wake up later and realize it was all in a dream.

Do not become anxious because you saw a dream of being left behind. See it as just another warning dream from God, because that is what it actually is.

God made it intentional to show you what could be your fate if you're not living right. He showed you this not because He has already condemned and disqualified you. But because He wants you to get right with Him.

So see this dream as the perfect opportunity to right your wrongs with God. Start living a life that is pleasing to Him. Make yourself rapturable.

Final Thoughts On Dreams About Rapture

As you can see, no dream of rapture seems to be a bad omen. Even if you saw yourself being left behind in a dream when rapture happened, it is still a good omen. At least, you were warned before the actual rapture happens. You have a chance to repent and prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Beloved, I trust that by reading this article, you understood the biblical meaning of rapture in a dream.
